Seasonal Ayurvedic Workshops w/ Motina Austin
Vata Dosha: Sunday, October 11th 1-3:30 pm

Seasonal Workshop- Vata on ZOOM
The Ayurvedic principle, “microcosm and macrocosm” (so above, so below), means the elements that exist in nature, exist in us. The 5 elements, space, air, fire, water and earth are found in varying degrees in all things in nature.  We all have unique combinations of elements that define our mind body constitution, known as dosha prakriti. Ayurveda teaches us that the key to health is keeping our dosha in balance. The cyclical changes in nature can cause our doshas to become imbalanced.

In our Seasonal Ayurvedic Yoga workshop we will explore:
  • Symptoms of imbalance
  • Balancing yoga practice
  • short lecture then movement

Cost: $35 each

Vata Dosha Sunday, October 11th 1-3:30 pm ONLINE VIA ZOOM
Vata means “wind” and is the propulsive and energetic force responsible for movement, expression and the discharge of all impulses.  The elements of vata are space and air. The characteristics of vata are; cold, quick, mobile, dry, expansive, hard, rough, light, and clear.   Autumn through early winter is vata season. During the vata time of year those with predominately vata dosha can experience and increase in these characteristics which could lead to vata imbalance.
Note: This round on the vata will only be online.

Kapha Dosha: Next years workshop TBA
Kapha, means “to bind” and is the sustaining and conserving force, responsible for tissue formation, substance, cohesiveness, lubrication and support. The elements of kapha dosha are water and earth.  The characteristics of kapha are; cold, slow, heavy, smooth, soft, liquid, oily, stable, solid, and dense. During late winter and spring these characteristics increase in nature and can also increase in those with kapha dosha creating and imbalance.

Pitta Dosha: Next years workshop TBA
Pitta means “to cook” and is the trans-formative force responsible for digestion, warmth and perception.  The elements of pitta are fire and water. The characteristics are; hot, sharp, moist, light and oily. Summer is the pitta time of year and those with pitta dosha can experience and increase in these characteristics which could lead to pitta imbalance.
