A recent study has shown that balance starts to decline around the age of 50, determined by
how long a person can stand on one leg. This time dwindles as age increases, presenting a
greater risk for, and fear of, falls. The good news is - we can boost our balance with practice, so
we can live life with greater ease, and do the things we love to do!!
This 6-week series is designed to help individuals improve their balance while becoming more
confident in their mobility and stability. Over the course of the 6 weeks, we will explore the
various systems of our bodies that are important for maintaining our balance as we age, and
practice skills connected to these systems, thus building our balance endurance incrementally
from the first session to the last.
This series is for anyone who wants to maintain, and/or, improve their balance, no matter your
current situation. All you need is your curiosity and willingness to have fun while you practice!
Attending the full series is ideal, but drop-ins are welcome to come to any session. We
understand that balancing your life events can be challenging too!
