Motina Austin-WatsoN RYT 500 CYT

Events 2022:
February 11-13th The Ayurveda Approach
Bio:
I came to yoga through meditation in 2004. The benefits of yoga and meditation increased my strength and flexibly, but more importantly allowed me to find calm in the chaos. My approach to yoga is introspective and breath centered. I see teaching as a shared practice with the teacher as the facilitator. I encourage the student to use self-study (Svadhyaya) during our practice. Listening to their bodies allows them to cultivate patience and contentment (Samtosha), with where they are in the moment. When we honor our bodies we are paying homage to our physical gift by practicing Ahimsa (non-harming), by moving in a safe and respectful way. There is also a nod the Ayurveda as the classes are designed to help restore the mental and physical imbalances that maybe caused by diet, lifestyle, life-cycle and/or cyclical changes in nature.
Training:
200 hour Hatha Yoga certification from Boundless Yoga Studio in 2014
Restorative Yoga Certification from Boundless Yoga Studio- 2016
NAMA Certified Ayurveda Health Counselor - Himalayan Institute in 2017
Anatomy for Yoga Teachers offered by Jason Ray Brown - 2017
300 hour Hatha Yoga Certification from Boundless Yoga Studio -2016
Chair Yoga from Boundless Yoga Studio- 2018
Degree
(BA) in Information Systems Management from NYU (Stern School of Business)
"Observing Motina’s evolution from student to teacher appears seamless, however this achievement came from her dedication to empowering herself and others in reaching their goals. Motina is an inspiration; it is for me a Joy to practice yoga with her." ~
