Event Description
This is a combination of lecture (15%) and class (85%). This will be a four week workshop focusing on developing and owning your yoga practice. As we practice asanas, there are aspects that we can listen to that have the potential to enhance our practice.
Each week will highlight one of the four aspects that can help us lock into our asanas in different ways and take our practice to the next level.
This workshop will be great for beginners looking to learn more about the asanas and pranayama and also great for a person at any level looking to deepen their mind-body connection in their practice.

September 7th
Week One: Your Yoga Guide
- Working with the yoga instructor, together you will journey through a series of asanas learning the names (English and Sanskrit), discussing the basic focus of the asana, muscles used, and variations of the asana. At the completion of the asana breakdown we will then move through a flow, putting the asanas together creating a vinyasa practice.
Week Two: Your Yoga Breath
- We will discuss how our breath reacts to our bodies in different asanas and how we can use our breath to move deeper into asanas. Then when we move into the vinyasa we will experiment with different pranayamas throughout the practice listening to the connection of your breath and your body.
Week Three: Your Yoga Mind
- Our minds talk to us so much through our practice. Learn about the ego voices that can distract us from being in the present moment and techniques to assist us in quieting the mind to work towards the path of spiritual transition. Throughout the practice that follows, we will observe our yoga mind and practice the techniques discussed to quiet the Maya.
Week Four: Your Yoga Bliss
- What is your body really feeling in this asana? Our bodies recognize many sensations and we don’t always have the correct words to name those feelings. Learn the vocabulary to name the sensations we feel in our bodies as we practice asanas. Once we identify these feelings with appropriate words, we will then move through a vinyasa listening and truly hearing what our body is telling us in the present moment.
